Mobile apps · Prague

Your productin your customers' pockets. For fintech and regulated industries.

Tolaron is a Prague venture studio focused on mobile apps. We build digital products around the app: iOS and Android in React Native, Expo and TypeScript, and the web apps that go with them. For a product you already have, we build on your API and leave the product as it is. The scope is agreed in writing, and the person you talk to is the person who builds.

  • FintechWe know payments, onboarding and KYC from the inside. We build apps that stand up to the regulator and to the customer who relies on them every day.
  • HealthcareSensitive data, procurement rules and people with no time for software. It has to be simple, and it has to be up.
  • B2B operationsServices, logistics, manufacturing. The value is in the systems you already run. The missing piece is the interface.
Services

Two kinds of projects.

1

A new product, built around the app

Your product starts as a mobile app. We design and build the digital product around it: the iOS and Android app and the web app for your team or your customers.

Best fit: a new product your customers will use mainly on their phones.

2

An app for an existing product

Your product already works. We build its iOS and Android app on your API, and a web app or dashboard if your team needs one. Your product stays as it is.

Best fit: you have a working API and someone on your side who can change the backend.

Where we work.

Fintech

We know payments, onboarding and KYC from the inside. We build apps that stand up to the regulator and to the customer who relies on them every day.

A doctor shakes hands with the service engineer who has just repaired the X-ray machine.

Healthcare

Sensitive data, procurement rules and people with no time for software. It has to be simple, and it has to be up.

B2B operations

Services, logistics, manufacturing. The value is in the systems you already run. The missing piece is the interface.

Approach

How an engagement runs.

  1. Scope

We agree what will be delivered before we start, and we are accountable for delivering it.

  2. Backend

We build on the API you have. When it needs to change, we work with the person on your side who can change it.

  3. People

Senior people do the work. The person you talk to is the person who designs and builds.

  4. Billing

We bill the time we actually work, under a cap agreed up front. When something changes, you decide before we spend more.

  5. After launch

Apps live in app stores, and systems change underneath them. We maintain what we ship.

Principles

What we stand for.

  • Trust

    We build things that last.

  • Technology

    We turn complexity into opportunity.

  • Precision

    We execute with intent.

  • Momentum

    We move ideas into reality.

  • Merchant payments and onboarding

Product engineer, later senior mobile developer and team lead, UK payment institution

One FCA-authorised UK payment institution, two roles. First, merchant onboarding in the app: identity verification, commercial terms and e-signed agreements, without paperwork or a sales call. Then the card-payments app in React Native for iOS and Android, used by more than three thousand merchants: from architecture to store release, leading two to three engineers.

Questions

Before we discuss your project.

Scope, dependencies and the practical details of working together.

What should we send in a project enquiry?

Tell us who will use the app, what they need to do and which system it should connect to. Include the current app or API if one exists, your priorities and any timing constraints. Please do not send credentials or customer data.

How do you estimate and charge for the work?

We estimate against an agreed scope and bill actual work under an agreed budget cap. Cost depends on the user journeys, design, API readiness, integrations and testing. Changes that need more budget require agreement before the extra work.

Do we need an existing backend?

For an app on a product you already have, the best start is a working API and someone on your side who can change it. For a new product built around the app, what it needs on the server side is agreed as part of the scope. Backend development is not a standard service: where a project needs it, we discuss it for that project.

What needs to be agreed before work starts?

The scope, responsibilities, dependencies, acceptance criteria and estimate. Code ownership, store accounts, release responsibilities and maintenance terms also need to be settled in the project agreement.

Who will we work with?

Tolaron is founder-led. Zdeněk Dolák is your contact for the project. We deliver an agreed product scope rather than sell developer capacity.

Can we work together remotely?

We serve Czech and international clients in Czech and English from Prague. Tell us where your team works so we can agree communication, decision-makers and meeting times.

Something else? Write to hello@tolaron.com or book a call.
